New Calypso's engines delivered to Francine Cousteau!
Calypso refurbishing has reached a new step: Calypso's new Volvo engines have been delivered yesterday (Feb. 15, 2009) to Francine Cousteau, President of The Cousteau Society and Equipe Cousteau.
Francine Cousteau took delivery of new Volvo Penta engines that will soon equip Calypso. Calypso is currently in a specialized shipyard in Concarneau (Brittany, France) where she will be completely refurbished (to know more about Calypso Refurbishing).
These engines, delivered by a firm specialized in marine Volvo Penta engines, Le Pocher in Quimper (Brittany, France) are state-of-the-art engines which ensures world-class performance combined with low fuel consumption and low emission meeting new environmental standards.
The delivery of the new Calypso's engines symbolise a new progress toward her rebirth, and all The Cousteau Society see her already sailing all around the planet!
